Keeping it Reel: My Top 10 Movies and Shows of 2020
2020 has been a hot mess, inside a dumpster fire, inside a train wreck. So let me raise a glass and give a heartfelt shout-out to my top 10 favorite movies and shows that made this year semi-bearable.
When All is Read and Done: October 2020 Wrap-Up
Wow, the last time I did one of these wrap-up posts was *checks notes* back in March? Yikes. That's embarrassing. Well, in my defense, 2020's been acting like an angry toddler who doesn't want to eat their vegetables. It has screamed its displeasure at every turn, and even managed to chuck some proverbial broccoli across the dinning table (which, of course, hit us right in the face). Can somebody please put 2020 in timeout, because I'm tired and I need a break from this chaos.
When All is Read and Done: March 2020 Wrap-Up
As that crazy old owl in Disney's Bambi once said, "Nearly everybody gets twitterpated in the springtime." Well, I guess I'm one of those rare souls who fall into the "nearly" category, because I'm not exactly feeling overjoyed with the world situation right now. BUT, let's choose to focus on the positive shall we? And one of those positive things is this: I read a couple of excellent books in March that put my head in a total whirl!
When All Is Read and Done: February 2020 Wrap-Up
Have you ever seen Lion King 1 1/2? If you haven’t, you’re missing out on some uhhhh... "quality" entertainment. For the uninitiated, the movie is basically one giant, low-budget spoof, but one that's officially sanctioned by The Mouse itself. In it, there’s a scene where Timone and Pumba mournfully sing: "Sunrise, sunset. Sunrise, sunset. Swiftly fly the years."
January 2020 Wrap-Up + Pondathon Sign-Up
Today I'm officially signing up for The Pondathon! The Pondathon is a co-operative and story-driven readathon hosted and run by CW from The Quiet Pond. The aim of the Pondathon is to read books and collect points to protect the friends over at The Quiet Pond from the encroaching malevolent forces that threaten our friends in the forest.
