Fun fact: book blogging is a lot of life-draining work (but thankfully, not of the literal Dementor’s Kiss variety). You need to grow your blog, design your graphics, post pictures on bookstagram, retweet the latest news on book twitter, upload videos on booktube, and write reviews on Goodreads. Not to mention somehow finding the time to read all those latest releases crowding up your shelves. I’m working up a sweat just thinking about it. 💦

There aren’t a thousand million trillion hours in a day, so how can you up your book blogging game without also losing your mind? That’s the question I struggled to answer for the first year of my bumpy blogging experience. I kept thinking to myself (to quote the wise and very mature Olaf): “This will all make sense when I am older.”

Actual footage of baby blogger me trying to figure out how to book blog.

But unlike Olaf, you don’t actually have to wait until you’re older! You can learn NOW the things that have taken me over a year and a half to understand! How, you might ask? Well, I’ll tell you.

Introducing The Blogiful Blog Design Week 2.0

Tune into Novels & Waffles for Blogiful 2.0, a five-day-long blogging event that I’m co-hosting with the lovely Tracy from Truffle’s Literary Wonders. The Blogiful Event (and yes, that’s just the words “blog” and “beautiful” mashed together) aims to help book bloggers like yourself make sense of the tangled mess that is blog design. It will be overflowing with tips, tricks, walkthroughs, tutorials, and even a free giveaway! From January 27th to January 31st, Tracy and I be sharing all our deepest, darkest, most helpful insider secrets on topics such as color palettes, animated blog headers, SEO, and so much more!

Between the two of us, we’ve got quite the arsenal of design knowledge and branding know-how. But we don’t want to selfishly hoard it like grumpy old dragons (we aren’t Smaug, you know). Instead, we want to arm you to the teeth with all that info so you too can battle your time-draining demons. You’ve already got enough problems (remember that exhaustive list from the beginning of this post?). Don’t let designing and branding your book blog be one of them! Check back next week for Blogiful 2.0!

Want Early Access?

*In my best infomercial voice* But wait, there’s more!

Do you want early access to some exclusive Blogiful content TODAY, a full two weeks before the event begins? (Of course you do – nobody likes to wait, after all.) Then sign up below to have the Waffle Truck instantly deliver all the free downloadable worksheets, checklists, and planners that’ll become available during the Blogiful 2.0 Event straight to your inbox.

While You Wait

Okay, so you’re not interested in early access. What now? Obviously, you’re going to sit around idly, twiddle your thumbs, and count down the seconds until this waffley awesome event starts… haha, not! But if you do have a moment of your precious time to spare, then please feel free to check out all the posts from the 2019 Blogiful event right here. Some of the topics I cover include: rebranding, fonts, blog names, and even a special in-depth tutorial on how I make my own graphics.

Are you excited for the Blogiful 2.0? I know I am!

What are some topics you hope will be covered?

What parts of blog design and branding do you find most difficult?
