To all the books I’ve read before:

P.S. I still love you.

I still love you and want to reread you. And that’s a really huge problem for me because I have so many other new releases I should be reading right now. So many backlisted books I should be reviewing. It’s also a really huge surprise. I swear I didn’t know. All this time, I thought I was over my old rereading habits. How could I not be, when I’ve already read you a thousand – nay, a million – times? But you’ve always been the books that I love to reread.

4 Books I Still Love

Even Though I’ve Reread Them A Million Times

1. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone

Sometimes I think I’m stuck in a time loop. Caught in some twisted version of Groundhog Day. Why? Because no matter how many other books are on my two-ton TBR (seriously, it’s CRUSHING, and not in the cute, oh-he’s-totally-crushing-on-you sort of way), I still find myself reaching for Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Like, over and over and over and over AND OVER (okay, I think you get the idea) again. Basically I’m the Phil Connors of readers.

Whenever I’m stressed and just need a good comfort read, I know I should probably try out some other titles. But will I? I’ll let Lara Jean answer that question for you:

I will always reread Harry Potter.

2. The Book Thief

Any list of books I love to reread must absolutely, positutely include this one. The Book Thief is basically the perfect chocolate chip cookie; reading it is an utter delight for the all of the senses. Its achingly-beautiful prose is ooey-gooey goodness and the characters are deliciously lovable. And that ending tho. It gets me blubbering like a baby walrus. Every. Single. Time.

3. The Percy Jackson Series

The Percy Jackson series is like the John Ambrose McClaren of Book World: everybody liked it in middle school. Some people might have grown out of it, but let me assure you, I’m still a Camp Half Blood Camper. Rick Riordan’s story, the characters, the world, the….well, everything really – have continued to stick with me, no matter how many years have passed. (And to be honest, its been quite a few…I’m turning into an old soul. *begins to sob and then stops because now I have to worry about things like wrinkles*)

4. Peter Pan

If Percy Jackson is like John Ambrose McClaren, then J. M. Barrie’s classic is like Peter Kavinsky. Peter Pan is all about loud, rowdy boys who don’t want to grow up or say excuse me. (They would probably always take the last piece of pizza too.) But even so, there’s something about The Boy Who Wouldn’t Grow Up that makes my anxious little heart as light as fairy dust. Something that makes me want to crow and shout and act like a crazy kid again.

I’m going to watch the film tomorrow!! I don’t have class on Fridays, so this is going to be the perfect way to kick off my weekend. I’m forever and always down to reread The Hobbit, LOTR, The Chronicles of Narnia, Anne of Green Gables etc, any Jane Austen novel, HP, & so many others :’)

I will also always reread the Percy Jackson books (and as I’m still in middle school, most people who still read continue to gush about Rick Riordan’s new releases. Actually, thats me and maybe five other people, but it still counts!) It took me almost a month to read the Book Thief, and I actually found it incredibly difficult to get through. It is a more difficult style of writing, and very different than what I’m used to reading, so that’s probably why. Anyways, great post!

I love this and I think there is something very magical about rereading books. It is so comforting!! Harry Potter is a classic and stepping back into that magical world is always so wonderful, I literally can’t describe it!!
The Book Thief is one of my favourites too. I love that death was the narrator was phenomenal and I still think about the line ‘I am Haunted by Humans’– amazing!!
Great post and I’m loving all the Lara Jean in this post, I can wait to see the new movie!! <3

I’ve read The Hunger Games over 10 times, and ashjgksd I just love it so much. Also, I’ve made it a tradition to re-read To All The Boys every summer 😍

Aaah, all of these books are perfect rereads!! Percy Jackson is a go-to reread for me, along with Magyk and The False Prince. I just love going back and reading the books I read when I was younger, because they were so amazing back then, and seeing that they still hold up now just gives me the best feeling ever 😁

I love this post and the whole idea to incorporate gifs from the movie SO MUCH. You’re always coming up with the most fun post ideas. 💜 While none of these are my go-to rereads, I loved Percy Jackson, Harry Potter, and The Book Thief so much. :) I think my go-to rereads tend to be romances. I adore the Psy-Changeling series by Nalini Singh and London Celebrities by Lucy Parker, and I frequently find myself reaching for my favorite books in the series.

Ohmyghod Kat, saaaame!! There’s just something about these loved books that make us go back every. single. time!! Now that Percy Jackson is officially coming to Disney+, I’m actually planning to do another reread. I just can’t… not go back to that world. But I also understand the feel of having to read new ones because gurl, we gotta get some move on at times, so what I do now is reread one-two chapters of these PS. I still love you books and then continue the day with reading the “current bookfriends”. Somehow, that helps me get both things done hahaha. Oh, and by the way, I’m also a Hufflepuff and I love, love your waffles!!!

I’m so glad you feel the same way as me :) And YASSSSSSS PERCY JACKSON!! I’m so excited for that! It’s perfect too because I just finished rereading PJO with my husband, who hadn’t read it before! Now we’re working on Heroes of Olympus together :) And also, I love your method of doing a bit of new reading as well a few chapters of our old favorites everyday! Maybe I should try that out myself!

ALSO, thank you so much! I’m glad you love my waffles as much as I do. That means a lot to me :)
