I completely agree with you about An Enchantment of Ravens. Everyone else seems to love it and I felt very lonely in thinking it wasn’t that great.

first of all, oh mY GOD YOUR LAYOUT AND DESIGN ARE SO HEART-EYES
i personally adored ALWAYS AND FOREVER, LARA JEAN. i found it so stress-relieving and carefree. and the cuteness just warmed my heart. but i also agree that nothing reaaaally happened. but still i enjoyed it A LOT.
some of the books that are stress-free and that i love are THE UPSIDE OF UNREQUITED by becky albertalli, RED, WHITE & ROYAL BLUE by casey mcquiston, THE DUCHESS DEAL + THE GOVERNESS GAME, both by tessa dare, and many many more!!
and i think A DARKER SHADE OF MAGIC, by v. e. schwab had such an amazing, mind-blowing-ly organized world building. i was in awe.

I COULD LITERALLY DIE AT HOW NEXT LEVEL THEY ARE. also, i feel the same about always and forever, lara jean. it was a pretty meh book and I honestly would’ve been fine with it not existing at all. I do remember that Peter was pretty good in that book though! i haven’t read An Enchantment of Ravens, and I’m honestly not planning to because insta-love is the bane of my existence and so many people complain that this book has it. i did read the first chapter of Sorcery of Thorns, the author’s second book, and I liked it so much!

And I agree – I could have lived without Always and Forever, but at the same time, I’m 10000% behind the movie adaptations, so YAY for the fact that means there will be three movies instead of just two, I guess??? ALSO, I’ve heard some good things about Sorcery of Thorns, so I’ll probs be picking it up still (PLUS THE COVER. I’m A TOTAL SUCKER FOR BEAUTIFUL COVERS).
It’s funny, I liked An Enchantment of Ravens precisely because it didn’t stress me out! I’ve found that I love books that seem to just meander without any real sense of urgency! I’m sorry that it didn’t work for you though!
Stress free books are so nice sometimes, aren’t they? I honestly don’t know why I don’t read more of them. Everything seems to stress me out in real life, you would think I would like to read stress-free books when I have a moment to relax. But no. Instead I torture myself with action-packed fantasy books that have me sitting at the edge of my seat hahaha
The way you wrote this was literally ADORABLE!! You’re definitely taking the world by storm with your blog!! And I loved Always and Forever Lara Jean too, because like you said it’s stress free!! We don’t get much of that, so when we do it’s kind of glorious.

I have yet to read “To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before,” and I need to do so ASAP! I’m surprised there isn’t a very big conflict in this sequel, but I’m looking forward to reading a real feel-good book nonetheless :’) I’m a new reader of your blog, and I’m so glad I found it!

Great review Kat! I think the fact that there’s no main conflict or whatsoever in Always and Forever is one of the main factor why I love it so much. It’s such a stress-free and fluffy book for me to read in time where everything is just so stressful :D

Ah, can I just say how I think it’s amazing how you are SO sweet, even when writing about aspects that you disliked in a book!? It’s truly such a pleasure to read your reviews, Kat! <3 I'm not typically a fan of instalove either, so that romance doesn't sound like it'll be my cuppa tea in an Enchantment of Ravens! I've only seen the To all the Boys movie, but it's nice to hear that Lara Jean and Peter mature and develop well in this installment! I'm sorry to see that the story didn't have much of a purpose though!
